Korea Policy Institute

The Korea Policy Institute (KPI) is an independent research and educational institute that provides timely analysis of US policies toward Korea and developments on the Korean peninsula. In the interest of promoting friendship between the peoples of the United States and Korea, KPI is guided by the premise that a reasonable US policy towards Korea must be supportive of the legitimate desires of the Korean people for peace, sovereignty, reconciliation, and the reunification of Korea.

In partnership with UC Berkeley’s International and Area Studies, Institute of East Asian Studies, and Center for Korean Studies, KPI held a major conference, “Reunification: Building Permanent Peace in Korea,” at the University of California, Berkeley, on Friday, October 10, 2008. The conference was expected to help shape the next American government’s policies toward the Korean peninsula.
