Institute for Policy Studies (IPS)

The Institute for Policy Studies, founded in 1963, works with social movements to turn ideas into action for peace, global justice, and the environment. As an organization of public scholars, IPS helps provide information, resources, books, films, speakers, organizing, and more to U.S. and global movements for peace and against empire, against racism and inequality, for a healthy planet and more.

A 2009 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network helped the New Internationalism Project of IPS to work with and support U.S. and UN agencies working to challenge Israeli violations of Palestinian human rights. As part of the leadership of the UN-based International Coordinating Network on Palestine, IPS works with the UN’s special rapporteurs on human rights in the occupied territories, the president of the General Assembly, and the Assembly’s Committee on the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, bringing civil society voices to the UN-based global debate.

A 2013 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network honored IPS’ 50th anniversary and its ongoing work to shape a bold, progressive future.
