Media Education Foundation (MEF)

The Media Education Foundation (MEF) produces and distributes documentaries and other educational resources designed to help the public engage in social and political issues as active citizens rather than passive spectators and consumers. To this end, MEF’s films and study guides translate the latest scholarship and political commentary and analysis into accessible, interactive formats that encourage informed debate about public policy and its relationship to democracy.

Since its founding in 1991, MEF has produced dozens of acclaimed films, including War Made Easy with Norman Solomon; Hijacking Catastrophe; Peace, Propaganda and the Promised Land; No Logo with Naomi Klein; Rich Media, Poor Democracy with Robert McChesney; The Myth of Liberal Media with Noam Chomsky and Edward Herman; and On Orientalism with the late Edward Said.
