Tree Aid

Tree Aid aims to create thriving, sustainable communities throughout the isolated and remote regions of Africa. The organization works to build skills, knowledge, and self-reliance with communities in the drylands of Burkina Faso, Ghana, Mali, and Niger and the isolated areas of Ethiopia.

A 2021 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network supported Tree Aid’s Ghana Rural Agriculture and Cashew Enterprise (GRACE) project in northern Ghana.

A 2017 grant from the Cultures of Resistance Network supported Tree Aid’s Women’s Forest Livelihoods project. The project aims to empower 950 of the poorest women in the Yako and La-toden areas of Burkina Faso with the skills and knowledge to start their own tree businesses to earn a sustainable income and, for the first time, get official rights to manage and protect the local forests.
